If you need assistance it’s reassuring to know that your family, carers, and if necessary, the emergency services can quickly gain access to your home without causing damage. A key safe is a secure, weatherproof box to keep a set of keys outside your home. It can be fitted to any brick built or concrete external wall, outhouse or garage and is designed to hold up to three Yale-type or one deadlock key. Please ensure you have a spare key ready to store in your key safe.
Unlike personal alarms, key safes are not eligible for VAT exemption under the current UK government rules. You can find out more about key safes here.
Taking Care provide instructions to fit your key safe. You will need a power drill, 5mm drill bit suitable for masonry and a T30 Torx screwdriver. If you would like someone to fit your key safe, add the installation service to your order. One of the Taking Care team will fit your key safe, setup your personal alarm and show you how it works.
With a key safe, there is always a way to get help to you in an emergency at home.
If you select the installation service, Taking Care will setup your personal alarm, register it with the monitoring service and show you how it works. If you order a key safe, they'll fit that too. (Please ensure you have a spare key ready to store in your key safe).
Taking Care will call you within one working day to arrange a suitable time for the installation. There are morning or afternoon appointments and the alarm can normally be installed within five working days.
One of the Taking Care team will bring everything with them so you will not receive your order in the post. They will setup your personal alarm, answer any questions you have and make sure you are happy with the system.
Installation service is not available in Scotland, Isle of Man, the Scilly Islands or the Channel Islands. You can find out more about the installation service here.
