The key safe has a double wall construction with a heavy gauge stainless steel and zinc alloy shell.
Securely store a key to your home so help can always reach you in an emergency
If you live alone or you worry how help will reach you in an emergency, a key safe provides a convenient and secure way to store spare door keys.
The weatherproof box can be fitted to an exterior, outdoor wall made of concrete or brick. You can share the key code with your friends, family or neighbours. If you share the code with Taking Care, the Emergency Resolution Centre will only pass it onto the emergency services if you are unable to get to the door.
The emergency services will then be able to quickly gain access to your home without delay and without causing damage.
The key safe can only be opened using a unique four digit code that you set. It can be fitted in a discreet location so it cannot be seen by a passerby.
It is recommended you have a key safe with your personal alarm so help can always reach you. You can add a key safe to personal alarm package when you order online or by phone.
Openreach have announced that by 2027 all analogue phone lines will be replaced with digital ones. To ensure personal alarm customers are supported during and after the switchover, Taking Care have tested the full Age Co Personal Alarm product range in Openreach's laboratory with the leading telephone providers' networks including BT, Sky, TalkTalk and others.
"Digital Alarms" are future proof and do not rely on a telephone landline. They will not be affected by the switchover to digital phone lines. All calls and data are included in the subscription.
"Landline Alarms" connect to a traditional telephone landline but have been tested in Openreach's laboratory with the leading telephone providers' digital networks to ensure maximum longevity. However, you may need to pay an upgrade fee if your telephone provider makes a change in the future that affects your alarm. For more information, you can speak with the Taking Care Sales team by calling 0800 085 7371. Lines are open Monday – Friday, 8am - 6pm.
You can find out more about the digital switchover in Taking Care's Resources and Advice hub or on the Openreach website.

Many customers do not need to pay VAT on their personal alarms.
This is because the alarms are categorised as VAT exempt by the UK government if you, or the person you are buying the alarm for, have a condition that requires regular medication or are registered disabled.
However, key safes do not qualify for VAT exemption, so you will always pay VAT on this part of your order.
